D3.2: PEBBLE BO&C System

In this document the PEBBLE Building Optimization and Control System is described in detail. In particular for simple one-zone and three-zone buildings energy efficiency is posed as an optimization problem subject to thermal comfort constraints. Solution methodologies: in particular the Cognitive Adaptive Optimization (CAO) Method and the Convex Control Design (ConvCD) are presented. Salient features of the simulation and control design, along with guidelines for parameter selection are presented and discussed in detail. The methodology is developed for simple buildings and will be applied to the simulation models of the three PEBBLE Demonstration Buildings in D2.3.
